Come to your appointment fully prepared, look through our most frequently asked questions!
At Love At First Sight 4D Ultrasound, we understand that expecting parents may have many questions about their ultrasound experience. Our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page is designed to provide clear and helpful information about 2D, 3D, and 4D ultrasounds, appointment scheduling, safety, and what to expect during your visit. Whether you’re curious about image quality, session length, or recommended stages for ultrasounds, our FAQ section has you covered.
A 2D ultrasound provides a flat, black-and-white image in two dimensions. In a 3D ultrasound, sound waves are emitted from multiple angles, creating a three-dimensional image with depth—similar to a 3D movie. These images have different color tones, offering a lifelike view of your unborn baby, allowing you to see their features more clearly. A 4D ultrasound captures multiple 3D images over time, producing a real-time video where you can observe movements like yawning, waving, or playing peek-a-boo. HD (High Definition) ultrasound is the latest and safest technology. While the images remain in an orangish-tan hue, they are much clearer than older 3D/4D scans, with smoother, faster motion.
Definitely not! Our ultrasounds are elective and should never be used as a substitute for a diagnostic ultrasound ordered by your doctor.
No worries! We can easily avoid revealing the baby’s gender during the ultrasound. If you'd like, we can also inform a bakery of your choice or provide the gender determination in a sealed envelope.
Yes, it's important to reach out and schedule an appointment. You can book by contacting us.
The ideal time for a 3D/4D ultrasound is between 28 and 34 weeks. After 34 weeks, the baby is larger and there is less amniotic fluid, which can make it harder to capture clear images.
Just bring yourself and a valid form of payment (we accept cash, card, or check)!
While we are unable to work around some factors out of our control like placenta placement, adequate amount of amniotic fluid, baby's position, and maternal body habitus; you will be allowed to reschedule one free comeback appointment within two weeks of the original session.
Love at First Sight 4D Ultrasound uses the same medical imaging equipment found in hospitals and medical centers, offering the same level of safety as the machines used repeatedly at your OBGYN’s office. Ultrasound technology has been studied for over 30 years and has not been shown to cause any harm to either the mother or baby.
No, all the ultrasounds we offer are elective and will not be covered by your insurance. Payments can be made using cash or credit.
Love at First Sight 4D Ultrasound welcomes you to bring family and friends to share in the joy of your ultrasound session, including the little one’s siblings!
You have to be at least 15 weeks along in your pregnancy.
Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water several days leading up to your appointment! This is essential for obtaining high-quality images during your ultrasound. You can also try to drink juice about 30 mins prior to your appointment to get the baby moving!
